R&D Update
December 6,
2006
Progress
on the desktop VoIP client has been slower than
anticipated due to the difficulty of working with the
sipXtapi code base. This product tentatively is scheduled
for release Q2 2007.
The
client will have a novel method of encrypting the voice
stream, as well as a novel method of key management.
It will offer both symmetric and asymmetric encryption.
Symmetric key lengths will be set by the user, and are
limited only by computational power.
The client has been
demonstrated to work well even with symmetric key lengths of
several thousand bits.
We plan
to publish the source code for peer review, although the software will
remain proprietary.
